(It doesn’t cost me anything but time to write, and I’m happy to post my stories freely but I do have to pay my collaborators who provide their lovely music, voices, editing and mixing services).

I grew up on a farm in western Queensland and started my career as a lawyer with an international firm in Paris. I’ve been lucky to live and work in places, like Yangon, Nîmes, Phnom Penh, Sydney, Brussels, Bahrain and Berlin. I’m now devoted to writing.

My latest novel Me Gino and the Animals is coming soon.

My first, Drown Them in the Sea won the Vogel/Australian literary award and the Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Novelist of the Year Award.

“…like a Cormac McCarthy novel dunked in a barrel of Bundaberg Rum” – GQ Magazine

“…reminiscent of Patrick White… captures the reader’s heart” – Weekend Australian

“One of the most thrilling climaxes I’ve come across in years” – The Courier Mail

I hold a maîtrise en droit international et européen (Master) from l’Université d’Angers and a Bachelor of Laws.

I’m a professional French translator.
